This is the second in a series about saving money at the grocery store. This week’s blog features savings at Market Basket, a New England based grocery store chain.
Like many of you, my family’s grocery bills were out of control and a major expense each week. I wanted to buy healthy whole foods to feed our family of 5 and wasn’t willing to sacrifice quality to save money. Maybe you have been faced with the same dilemma but were not sure how to spend less. The answer to saving money while still feeding your family the healthiest foods is shopping with a plan, such as using The Dinner Daily! It is not only a meal planning service with 5 healthy weeknight menu plans, it also is heavily focused on saving you money and keeping you on a budget. Now who doesn’t want to embrace that?
I shopped using The Dinner Daily (www.thedinnerdaily.com) Market Basket Shopping List and documented the experience. I hope it motivates you to try our service for yourself. By shopping the list I was in and out the door in under 20 minutes! Do I have your interest yet? All of the stores specials are highlighted on the shopping list for easy reference. Additionally, items are grouped by produce, meats, dairy, grocery etc. for time efficient shopping. I was motivated and focused to buy only the items on the list. I wasn’t grabbing impulse purchases which we all know is a major budget breaker!
The big reveal . . .all of these groceries for my family of 5 were under $70!
Each of these recipes were prepared in 30 minutes or less – Love that!
Monday – Turkey and Stuffing Skillet with Carrots
Tuesday – Slow Cooker Garlic Roasted Chicken with Broccoli
Wednesday – Cider Pork Skillet Parmesan Brussel Sprouts
Thursday – Vegetarian Orzo with Garlic Cheese & Garden Salad
Friday – Glazed Tilapia with Sautéed Green Beans and Rice Pilaf
Saved myself time, saved myself money, and saved my week night sanity!
