Thanks for using the Dinner Daily App! Here is some information that may be of help.

What is this App?
This new App provides improved, streamlined access to your Dinner Daily menu and shopping list on your mobile device! It also makes it easy to make changes to your menu and shopping list, such as deleting meals, switching recipes within a dinner and adding things to your shopping list. You can also change your food preferences, dietary needs, store and state right in the app as well! It also makes it easier to shop in a store with your shopping list because once you have opened your menu and shopping list on your phone, you can shop “offline” in the store even if you don’t have a connection.
Visit https://thedinnerdaily.com/quick-app-demo/ to see a short video tour of the new app.
We are continuing to add new features to this app and would love to receive feedback from users if you have any suggestions as to how we can make the app work better for you. You’ll find a feedback link in the drop down menu in the upper left corner.
How to put the App on your phone or tablet
To get to the app, you can click the link to the new app when you visit your Dinner Daily dashboard on your phone, or you can go to https://app.thedinnerdaily.com on your phone browser. Then, you can add it to your phone’s home screen. To do that:
- On Android, using the Chrome browser the first time you load the app you should see an “Add to Home Screen” button appear at the bottom of your screen – tap that to add.
- On an iPhone or iPad, first tap the Share button in the middle of Safari’s button tray at the bottom and then select Add to Home Screen.
What you can do with the App
The allows you to view and change your menu and shopping list in a streamlined view. To view a meal or recipe, simply tap on the “card” in the app for that meal or dish. You can also swipe left to reveal Change (Pencil) and Delete (wastebasket) options. When you tap to Change a recipe, you can then select from Suggestions, Favorites or you can Search for a recipe. If you delete a recipe, you can always add one back in. At any time, you can restore the entire week’s menu back to its original meals.
In the shopping list, you can swipe a full sized shopping category card left or right to see the next category. You also can add, change, and remove items.
You can also change any of your preferences, including your weekly menu limits, dietary preferences, store and plan size!
If you shop at Kroger or Kroger-owned stores such as Fred Meyer, Fry’s, King Soopers, Pick N Save, Ralphs or Smiths Food and Drug, you can also send your ingredients directly to your online cart for pickup or delivery! See below for that.
We’ve also added other frequently requested enhancements such as:
- Staple items are now included as part of your shopping list in case you need to restock on those items
- On the shopping list, you can select one or more dinners to shop for, and the ingredients for the other meals will be hidden
- Pictures of the main courses are now an integral part of the app.
- It’s fast and you’re always logged in.
How to change dishes in the app
You can swipe left on any dish to reveal Change (Pencil) and Delete (wastebasket) options. When you tap on the pencil icon, you can then tap on Suggestions and then select from your Favorites or you can Search for a recipe. If you delete a recipe, you can always add one back in. At any time, you can restore the entire week’s menu back to its original meals.
Note, if you swipe right on a full meal, it will delete the meal. To change a dish, tap on the meal and then swipe right on any of the main or side dishes to change those.
How to change food preferences and other settings in the App
You will see options for changing your options by clicking on the “hamburger menu” (the three horizontal lines in the upper left hand corner).
Using online ordering for Kroger and Kroger-owned stores
Here’s how it works: If you have selected a Kroger or Kroger-owned store, (such as Fred Meyer, Frys Food, King Soopers, Pick N Save, Ralphs or Smiths Food and Drug) you’ll see an “Order” button at the bottom of your shopping list in the new app. Click that and you will be connect to a existing Kroger.com account or you can set up a new Kroger.com account. After connecting, when you return to the Shopping List, simply select the items you want to send to Kroger by tapping the checkbox next to the item(s) and then tap on the Order button. You will see a confirmation window showing the items to be sent (and their prices) and you can select which store near you to send them too. The items sent will now have a green dot next to them in your shopping list. Be sure to go to Kroger.com to check out and schedule your delivery or pickup.
Please note that you need to allow access to your location for this feature to work correctly, so it can identify the Kroger or Kroger owned stores nearest you to send the order. The app will prompt you to allow, but if you did not allow at first and need to change here are instructions:
