About The Dinner Daily App
For a quick overview of how our app works on the phone CLICK HERE
Our app has been designed to work equally well on your phone and your computer. Once you install our app on either device (see “How to get the App on your phone or computer” below) you will have direct access to your plan without the need to log in to our website.
If you ever want to swap out a recipe or delete an entire meal, it is very easy to do! You can also change your food preferences, dietary needs, store and state from the same view without needing to go to a separate settings page. You can see this in action HERE
You can shop in store on your phone or if a printed list is your preference, that’s an option too. Please note print is only available from the computer at this point in time. Just click on the print icon in the upper right corner of the green teal bar to print your shopping list or your recipes.

We suggest your whole household download the app on all your devices so your family has easy access to your weekly plan. Then, you can all quickly add items to your shopping list from any device.
How to use the app on your phone

If you want to change a recipe: tap on the recipe you wish to change when looking at your weekly menu. Then, when looking at the plan for the day, swipe left on the recipe you want to change to reveal the pencil icon. Tap on the pencil and then select from Suggestions, Favorites, My Recipes, or you can use Search for more options. We suggest you watch this quick video so you can see this in action. If want to delete a recipe, just tap the trashcan icon. And you can always add a recipe back to your plan by clicking on the “Add” button. At any time, you can restore the entire week’s menu back to its original state by clicking on the “Restore Original” link at the bottom of the home screen.
In the shopping list, you can swipe a full sized shopping category left or right to see the next category. You also can add, change, and remove items by tapping on the pencil icon.
Changing Preferences: You can also change any of your preferences, including your food preferences, dietary needs, store and plan size at the bottom of the home screen of the app.
If you shop at Kroger or Kroger-owned stores such as Fred Meyer, Fry’s, King Soopers, Pick N Save, Ralphs or Smiths Food and Drug, you can also send your ingredients directly to your online cart for pickup or delivery! See below for that.
We’ve also added other frequently requested enhancements such as:
- Staple items are now included as part of your shopping list in case you need to restock on those items
- On the shopping list, you can select one or more dinners to shop for, and the ingredients for the other meals will be hidden
- Pictures of the main courses are now an integral part of the recipes.
- It’s fast and you’re always logged in.
How to Change My Menu and Swap Recipes
On the phone: tap on the recipe you wish to change when looking at your weekly menu. Then, when looking at the plan for the day, swipe left on the recipe you want to change to reveal the pencil icon. Tap on the pencil and then select from Suggestions, Favorites, My Recipes, or you can use Search for more options. We suggest you watch this quick video so you can see this in action! On the computer: click on the Swap button below the recipe photo to change a recipe in your plan. You can select from our Suggestions, your Favorites, My Recipes, or you can Search for more options.
How to change preferences and other settings in the App
On the phone: click on the “hamburger menu” (the three horizontal lines in the upper left hand corner) to change your food preferences or dietary needs at anytime. You can change your state, store, and family size at the bottom of the home screen.
On the computer: click on the Food Preferences and Dietary Needs links below your weekly menu. You can also switch your family size and store and state by clicking on the related links in this same section.
Using online ordering for Kroger and Kroger-owned stores
Here’s how it works: If you have selected a Kroger or Kroger-owned store, (such as Fred Meyer, Frys Food, King Soopers, Pick N Save, Ralphs or Smiths Food and Drug) you’ll see an “Order” button at the bottom of your shopping list on your phone, or in the upper left side of the screen on your computer. Click that and you will be connect to a existing Kroger.com account or you can set up a new Kroger.com account. After connecting, when you return to the Shopping List, simply select the items you want to send to Kroger by tapping the checkbox next to the item(s) and then tap on the Order button. You will see a confirmation window showing the items to be sent (and their prices) and you can select which store near you to send them too. The items sent will now have a green dot next to them in your shopping list. Be sure to go to Kroger.com to check out and schedule your delivery or pickup.
Please note that you need to allow access to your location for this feature to work correctly, so it can identify the Kroger or Kroger owned stores nearest you to send the order. The app will prompt you to allow, but if you did not allow at first and need to change here are instructions:
