What is this “Sneak Preview” App?
Our “sneak preview” app is an early release of our new app that is still under development. We’re releasing it now because it provides an improved, streamlined access to your menu and shopping list we believe will work better for most of our users.

We would love to receive feedback from users while we are still in development. There is a Feedback link in the drop down menu in the upper left corner.
How do I get the Sneak Preview app on my phone?
To get to the app, you can click the link to the new app when you visit your Dinner Daily dashboard on your phone, or you can go to https://app.thedinnerdaily.com on your phone browser. Then, you can add it to your phone’s home screen. To do that:
- On Android, using the Chrome browser the first time you load the app you should see an “Add to Home Screen” button appear at the bottom of your screen – tap that to add.
- On an iPhone or iPad, first tap the Share button in the middle of Safari’s button tray at the bottom and then select Add to Home Screen.
What can I do with the Sneak Preview app?
The sneak preview allows you to view and change your menu and shopping list in a streamlined view. All items are miniature cards that expand to full size when you tap on them. You can also swipe left to reveal Change (Pencil) and Delete (wastebasket) options. When you tap to Change a recipe, tap on See Options and then select from Suggestions, Favorites or you can Search for a recipe. If you delete a recipe, you can always add one back in. At any time, you can restore the entire week’s menu back to its original meals.
In the shopping list, you can swipe a full sized shopping category card left or right to see the next category. You also can add, change, and remove items.
When you switch back and forth between your menu and shopping list, you see your latest information, even if you had also been changing them on another device or through the Classic interface.
Other features such as sending your list to Peapod or sending your menu to Google Calendar are not yet supported in the sneak preview app but we’re adding capabilities by the day.
How do I change dishes in the app?
You can swipe left on any dish to reveal Change (Pencil) and Delete (wastebasket) options. When you tap to Change a recipe, tap on See Options and then select from Suggestions, Favorites or you can Search for a recipe. If you delete a recipe, you can always add one back in. At any time, you can restore the entire week’s menu back to its original meals.
How do I change food preferences and other settings in the Sneak Preview app?
You can always get back to your dashboard by clicking on the “hamburger menu” (the three horizontal lines in the upper left hand corner) and then clicking on Dashboard. From your Dashboard you will be able to go to Account Settings and make changes to preferences, and you can see menus for other stores as well.
What improvements will the new app bring?
Unlike our current mobile experience, this new app has been designed from the ground up specifically for phones and other mobile devices. We built it to be faster and easier for you to use.
We are also adding other frequently requested enhancements such as:
- Staple items are now included as part of your shopping list in case you need to restock on those items
- On the shopping list, you can select one or more dinners to shop for, and the ingredients for the other meals will be hidden
- Pictures of the main courses are now an integral part of the app.
- It’s fast and you’re always logged in.
